As you'll remember when you and I "tangoed" in years past, Jon, I always do my homework. . I read that stuff when it first came out. Doesn't change the fact that it works. I would agree Cydia Eraser is just plain cleaner - but neither does Hemp have anything to worry about after having done it on 10.1.1.

Also - we all know that Saurik is jumpy at a lot of things that just aren't "jumpy worthy". Like his concerns about WKWebKit and security. It's just Saurik being Saurik. All respect to Jay for all the amazing things he's done for the JB community, though!

I'm happy to let this little debate die at this point - bigger fish to fry w/this new JB. And we can part the topic agreeing that Erase All Contents and Settings, after a semi-tether-style JB, for the average user, is a scary undertaking and should be avoided. Wait for Cydia Eraser to update, people!!

Jumpy or not, he's not often wrong. I meAn, erase away if you'd like, I'm just trying to help so none of you think it's fine and Lise your jailbreak. Also, if you think I don't do my homework, you're mistaken. I never open my mouth at all unless I know what I'm talking about. You just seem to like to argue and "know more" than everyone. I won't make the mistake of saying anything next time, right or wrong. As far as Eraser, there already is an iOS 10 compatible beta so it won't be long

Yes.. looking forward to having Eraser back! And I never implied you don't do your homework. You obviously do!! I did too on this matter and we came to a different conclusion.. All good.

But again - we agree. Wait for Eraser!

I don't mind the semi-untethered part. What I don't like is the temporary or expiring part, as is the case with the expiring certificate-based jailbreaks from Pangu and 9.3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but many of those will start expiring this Spring, right?

Will this JB be temporary as well?

    Thanks!

Related question- anyone bought an iPhone 7 in the past few days? What OS is most likely to be on it? 10.0? 10.1.1? Want to be sure it's an OS that will work with the Todesco JB.

    Thanks!

There was a 1year cert we all got last year.. yes.. that one is probably up in April'ish of '17.

Yes, all JB tools (.ipa) of this type rely on a developer cert. When you're not a registered Apple Developer- only 7 day certs are issued. You'll have to reJB every week. Until someone finds us a 1yr cert like we had for 9.3.3.

What happens on day 7 or 8? If we forget to re-JB?

Does it just reboot into non JB state?

And then we can just re-JB again?

    Curious

But I'm pretty sure you need to delete tool.. and re add with Impactor again.. since the cert expires. Can't just reboot and click on same tool loaded on your phone already.

I agree NewD. And I agree with jonG. But comparing 9 and 10 is out there. A bit. My understanding was iOS 10 was designed to be. Ore of a stand alone interface than the previous iOS versions

Yeah, I just upgraded to a 7Plus and the iOS was 10.1.1....got my new phone on Christmas Eve....

Feeling pretty lucky at this point, considering i had a 6Plus running on 8.1.2....

    Question..
I have a iphone 7 with ios 10.0 installed. I have nothing updated when i got it.
The yalu jailbreak says that its to low. Must be ios 10.1
What should i do? Can not upgrade to ios 10.1 anymore.
Update to ios 10.2 and hope that there wil (or not) be a jailbreak for it.
Or wait for a stable jailbreak with ios 10.0 included?
The demo with ios 10 jailbreak was 10.0 so i have nothing changed.
Yalu Beta 4 is released on his website with the substrate fix in it i think.
But stil not iphone 7 ios 10.0 compatible.
I read somewhere that Esser is busy with a ios 10.2 jailbreak.
So what is the best option for me at this stage..

I would do nothing at this point. Wait for a while to see if something opens on 7 for 10.0 (which I doubt will happen). If i0n1c eventually comes out with a 10.2 JB, then you can always upgrade to 10.2 - since it's the current firmware being signed.

What's so frustrating to me is that LUCA pays attention to him. And we have this frickin' unstable piece of sh1t jailbreak because Luca wants to respond to everything Esser says rather than work on this JB.

Sorry.. had to vent. I just wish all this nonsense immature drama would stop. Ok. I'm done..
