The video tutorials say to hard reboot (power button and home button in 6S until phone turns off) then reclick on the JB tool. Cydia should install the 2nd time.

Really looking forward to this prometheus tool. The ability to do a fresh install to an unsigned version of iOS, is gold to any avid jailbreaker!

iFaith tool saved my bacon on more occasions than I care to remember...

I still think I read that Prometheus will require you to have saved BLOBS for that firmware while it was still being signed. So those of us who missed getting 10.1.1 BLOBS for our phones will be out of luck even with Prometheus. Right?

Correct. There were 2 ways of saving blobs.

But this was by far the easiest method.

Unfortunately with the signing window closed on 10.1.1 the best one can do is save blobs for 10.2 and onwards.

I got in, in the nick of time, literally a couple of hours prior to 10.1.1's cut off...

EDIT: Still might be worthwhile to save your BLOBS going forward and from what I can understand once you use the online tool to save your BLOBS it continues to automatically save them for future versions. Not sure what the potential safety risks are, having a 3rd party with one's BLOBS, but I can't imagine they useful without the device they intended for. Also no idea if that 3rd party server will be up indefinitely. You can downloaded the BLOBS to your pc once they've been extracted.

Well first attempt failed. Clicked on JB tool, white screen (normal) then auto reboot (also expected) but after reboot no Cydia. Tried hard reboot as one video said. Still no Cydia. So stumped.

    Any thoughts?

Okay. This thing is really wonky. Took about 4 hard reboots and 3-5 times of clicking the JB tool (and it auto rebooting instead of "crashing" like it should). But finally Cydia is working. Now onto next steps.

Really nice to see Cydia and iFile on my 7+! Now I'm just getting error code 256 while trying to install Kaita's deb of the Substrate fix. Anyone know that repo name? I'll try that way.

I seen from another youtuber that the jailbrake is in beta 4 already. Might as well just wait until it's out of betas

Default Jailbreak for iOS 10.0-10.1.1 released tonight
Okay.. I completely agree with the YouTubers that say WAIT!! This beta tool is a pain..

But if you just have to try - here are a couple tips that should help you not pull all your hair out.

    1) If your screen goes totally black for a long period / don't panic. Just hard reboot (power button and volume down button on 7/7+ and power button and home button on 6S/6S+). Hold for 10 seconds. Then press power button to restart. Of course you'll have to reJailbreak by hitting JB tool.

    2) if clicking on JB tool reboots you. Just click again until app crashes (disappear flashes). The app disappear (crash) is the signal you're JBen. On 7+ my first tap of the JB always reboots me. JB tool works 2nd or 3rd time only.. ugh..

    3) if Cydia doesn't install first time remove tool and reuse Impactor to install again.

    4) If Cydia doesn't show a lot of text in screens. Delete tool and start again.

    5) once you've loaded Substrate Fix app use ONLY IT to restart Springboard after loading a tweak. DO NOT click on Restart Springboard from within Cydia. When you see that screen after an install. Click on home button. Go into switcher and clear Cydia.. THEN click on Substrate Fix app to respring..

If you like lots of frozen screens and loads of rebooting then you'll love this JB!' .. if not - stay away!!!

Also. Safe mode is very unstable in this jailbreak as well. If one of the tweaks you have downloaded causes your phone to go into safe mode you'll only see the safe mode brown screen flash very quickly and then right back to your springboard. You'll notice any other effects of other tweaks you've loaded like removing page dots, etc. are now gone… so you are definitely in substrate safe mode. So you have to go into Cydia and remove that tweak… And again when in Cydia you get you to the "restart springboard" screen get out of Cydia using the switcher and use the Substrate Fix tool to respring. That's the only tool you use to respring…

This includes Anemone too. You can preview in anemone… But do not hit apply from within anemone. Quit out of anemone using the switcher, and again hit the Substrate Fix app to respring.

Thanks for the info. Will sit tight and wait for the stable release before jumping on the JB band wagon.

Not working yet. Causes Safe Mode

iWidgets also dead on arrival. Installs - but long press doesn't bring up any screens.
