Apple’s Mapping service continues to steadily improve with Maps 3D Flyover, expanding coverage to Tokyo, Japan and Zion National Park, Utah most recently. The company’s Flyover feature has interactive 3D views that are photo-realistic, but only offered in select cities and later expanded coverage (and continues to do so). If you currently reside in these regions, launch the app and tap the (i) icon at the bottom right corner. Doing this, will bring you a high-resolution image of the place you are viewing. You can enter Flyover mode by clicking on the 3D and zoom in and out or move around using gestures.

Along with expanding Flyover coverage, Apple has been working on it’s Maps app and trying to improve it. Many have reported seeing improvements in mapping data in their region, as the company is working on major updates for iOS 8.1 in Maps. Some of the app’s major updates include indoors mapping, public transit directions, and augmented reality. Apple has also added a Flying City Tour mode for iOS 8, which allows users to get a tour of the city using Flyover.
