Report: iPhone 6 to Drop in August
For those not expecting to see Apple's next-gen flagship smartphone, the eagerly anticipated iPhone 6, you may not have to wait until September or October, as originally expected.
The new refreshed iPhone may arrive in August. That is, of course, if a new report published Friday is truly based on knowledgeable sources and insight.
Taiwanese media cites unidentified supply-chain sources, all of whom say a 4.7-inch screen version of the iPhone 6 will be here well before September. However, early fall remains the launch estimate for a 5.5-inch or 5.6-inch model of the iPhone 6.
Industry analysts say the new-gen iPhone could be such a hot commodity that Apple may produce some 80 million iPhone 6 handsets before 2014 comes to a close.
"Industry watchers have said increasing the iPhone's screen size from 4 inches would help Apple regain market share from competitors such as Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, who they say have responded to consumer desire for more screen size," Reuters reports.

This would probably be the first time in Apples history, that an Apple smart phone was released earlier than anticipated. Does this mean 'rush job'?? I'm still going to wait for the December iPhone anyway.

I will wait for the one with the best specs, not the one with biggest screen. Just my opinion!! Can't wait I will be there on launch day!!!

Plus they mass produce them and they sit in warehouses before they are released to the public. Shipping them out of the warehouse 2-3 weeks earlier is not a rush job

First year I'll be waiting to pick up a new phone...
I need to see how each feels in my hand before deciding. With the chaos that arises at launch time, I doubt I'll be able to even get both in my hands to effectively make a decision right away.
Kinda sux but kinda cool at the same time!
It'd be nice if they sent store models to retailers ahead of time so we could try before launch day.

Didn't the original iPhone 4GB and 8GB came out during June or July?

Up until the iPhone 5 (I believe) they released the iPhone in June/July
