Teen Spirit Already Behind iWatch
According to a new teen survey conducted by Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster, Apple's rumored and still unconfirmed iWatch will likely be a big hit with young adults across the United States.
Although teenagers aren't typically thought of as a market segment of tech junkies inclined to flock to smartwatches, we stand corrected in that assumption, based on Munster's findings.
A survey of 7,500 teens revealed that 61% own an iPhone (up from 55% in just six months) and 67% plan to make their next smartphone purchase an iPhone, too.
Gene Munster claims to have been floored, however, in the big jump in perceived interest in Apple's iWatch. A report summary reveals that 17% of teenagers would buy an iWatch if Apple launched it for $350 this year. Six months ago, only 12% said the same.
Interestingly, Munster found that 6% of U.S. teens already own a smartwatch, which is “slightly higher than expected given the relative lack of smartwatches on the market.”
Based on Munster's projections, Apple will sell 5-10 million iWatches in the product line's first year of shipments.

So they surveyed teens huh? And teens told them their next phone would be iPhone huh? Where are these teens plan on getting there money to purchase? Mommy and daddy? Plus they only asked 7500 teens? Out of multimillions of iPhone out there they only asked 7500? That a drop in a bucket. Survey is invalid! Smh
