'VerticalVideoSydrome' Warns You When You Will Be Recording Videos in Portrait Mode
It can be really annoying when you record a video in portrait mode, and then when you try to watch the video on the computer screen later on, everything looks so small because the video only fills your widescreen display top to bottom instead of side to side.
Sometimes, recording the video in portrait mode comes naturally to us, just because we normally hold our iPhones in that position. A new free jailbreak tweak called VerticalVideoSyndrome by iOS developer Josh Doctors is now available in Cydia that helps warn you that you're making that big no-no.
With the tweak installed, whenever your device is in portrait mode and you open the Camera application, a warning symbol is shown at the top center of the recording interface. The symbol is not embedded into the video itself, but it's there to help you know that you're recording in portrait mode.
The preferred video recording method is in widescreen landscape mode, so when you turn your Camera interface into landscape mode, the warning symbol will disappear:
You can change the icon to anything you want by going to Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/VVS.bundle and then moving an image file named "Warning.png" there.
I think this tweak would be a good idea for most people's devices, because I honestly can't stand watching people's portrait videos on my widescreen computer after they post them to Facebook, YouTube, or something else. It just doesn't fit right. If you want to give this free tweak a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository right now. It doesn't have any options to configure.
Requirements: iOS 7.0-7.0.6

This should be standard on iOS. One of my pet peeves...

The idiots that really need this won't know to install the tweak. Great idea though.
