Lol, so you are admitting your car is smarter than you; dare I say more responsible? Seriously, what an idiotic thing to say or rely on! People get killed by textiots.

Over the years I've been rear ended three times: The first was a person talking on a phone; the other two were textiots.

Due to the fact your insurance is null and void if you are caught texting at the time of an accident, and in some states committing a criminal offense, you are not covered and open to civil suites and charges. It's called negligence. Look it up.

Its all very cavalier until you plow into somebody at full speed with there children in the back seat, push them into an intersection, then they get T-boned... just so you can blither on in some inconsequential meaningless conversation.

    Just an FYI.

I also stated previously that I see them eating while driving while holding a phone to their ear with their shoulder... Is that not unsafe to you? On Hawaii island in a few year span we had 2 people hit and killed in crosswalks by police officers... They both say they weren't paying attention and were distracted at the time, but word around was both incidents the officers were using their personal devices at the time...
Oh man they have other radios to talk to dispatch and other officers like they could totally talk to another department about classified information or other information from other cops that work in another town. Do you understand anything about law enforcement or are you one of those people who ciritize officers for everything? Oh man does that feel unsafe to you that they are using their phones? Oh my God man totally! After a 1 year academy that teaches them how to drive better then you I totally feel unsafe! People like you make me chuckle.

I'm friends with a few officers here on Hawaii Island and my girlfriends family is comprised of law enforcement... I eat Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with multiple officers... I don't criticize cops for everything... I also don't feel unsafe that they are using their phones while driving... When I see cops get drunk at these dinners and then drive home with their children in the car it makes me mad... That's not cool to use their status as an officer to go above and beyond the laws they are to enforce... Trained drivers or not if it's illegal to drink and drive or text and drive then those should apply to an officer as well... Police here drive their own personal vehicles, they are notorious for not having their blue light turned on when driving on duty, they rarely use turn signals, make unsafe and illegal left turns where it's clearly marked no left turn (and they're not off to a call, they are just taking the faster easier route) and many of them like I said are multitasking with texting and eating while driving in a manner that is unsafe to others... 2 pedestrians hit and killed here in crosswalks with markings and lights so drivers know that pedestrians are crossing, and both times on duty officers without their blue light on, exceeding the posted speed limit by almost double and texting while just on patrol... Safety laws should be practiced by law enforcement and not just ignored so often because they have a badge and a gun... I bet if your loved one was hit in a crosswalk and killed by an officer who is not following basic safety laws (they give civilians tickets for) you might feel different... They are humans with uniforms and specialized training, but are still subject to the same human traits while driving as any of us... We can all easily be distracted and look down or away for a split second and then all the sudden a lil kid runs out in the street to chase a ball and then splat! because we looked away from the road for a split second... One year or ten years of an officer being trained to drive is useless if they are not paying attention to the road in front of them while trying to eat, text and drive faster than posted speed limits...
