Default 'NoGrabber' Prevents You From Opening Notification/Control Center By Mistake

In iOS 7, Apple offers not only Notification Center, but also a new Control Center feature. Notification Center is access by swiping down from the top of the display, and Control Center is accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the display. Sometimes, while in certain applications (games especially), it can be possible to open Notification Center or Control Center inadvertently while trying to perform a certain gesture.

A new free jailbreak tweak called NoGrabber by iOS developer Cunstuck helps prevent inadvertent Notification Center and Control Center launching by forcing the warning grabber to appear in place of either of the two interfaces, as shown above.

You're probably familiar with these warning grabbers. If you're ever played a full-screen game on iOS, and you swiped down from the top of the display, or up from the bottom of the display, then you probably know what it means to get a warning grabber. When you swipe, it appears, and then you have to swipe on the grabber again to actually open the interface you want. These appear in full-screen applications because sometimes gestures from within the application can conflict with Notification Center or Control Center, so this is Apple's 'fail-safe.'

What NoGrabber does is allow you to implement Apple's fail-safe in any application you have installed on your iOS device, no matter if it's full-screen or not. It adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can add applications installed on your iOS device to a White List, and applications in that White List will show the warning grabbers before Notification Center or Control Center is actually opened:

Without adding applications to your NoGrabber White List, Notification Center or Control Center will open open normally in the non-added applications without the warning grabbers.

If you want to give NoGrabber a try, it's available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository. The tweak requires iOS 7 to be installed.
