'CallShare' Lets You Take Notes, Make Reminders, or Set Events in the Middle of a Call
Sometimes it's when you're in the middle of a call with somebody that you really have to pay attention and take notes. This is especially the case when you're making plans with someone and want to be reminded when you have to meet up with someone, or when you need to take a note about something that someone is telling you.
A new jailbreak tweak called CallShare by iOS developer JGTweaks makes it easier than ever to take notes, create reminders, or create calendar events right from the iOS phone call interface, as shown above.
With CallShare installed, all you have to do is tap on the name or phone number at the top of the screen while in the middle of a phone call, and the iOS 7 share sheet will appear with shortcuts to a text messaging sheet, an e-mail sheet, a note-taking sheet, a reminder-creating sheet, or a calendar event-making sheet.
When you take a note, your note goes to the Notes application. The same applies for the reminder and calendar features – any reminders you take down go into the Reminders application, and any calendar events you take down will go into the Calendar application. Each share sheet includes its own custom look and style depending on the information that it needs, and each sheet has a cancel button for getting out of it, and a save button for saving your changes.
CallShare adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure a few simple options:
From the Overall cell, you can choose to have the keyboard automatically pop-up when you open a notes, reminders, or calendar event sheet. From the Notes cell, you can choose to have (or not have) a title field at the top of the notes sheet, as well as enable saving the note even when you tap on the Cancel button. The reminders and calendar cells don't have any options to configure at this point in time.
CallShare will certainly be useful to those that like to jot things down while in the middle of a phone call, but it should definitely be noted that you can always do these things by closing out of the phone application while in the middle of a call. This tweak just makes it easier to get to those functions by providing shortcuts from within the Phone application itself. If you want to give CallShare a try, it's available in Cydia's ModMyi repository for 99¢.
