Default 'ScreenshotShareSheet' Prompts You With Sharing Options When You Take Screenshots

When you take screenshots of your screen by pressing the power and home button at the same time, a snapshot of your screen at that particular time is saved to your Camera Roll, hence the name "screen"shot.

Usually, when you're taking a screenshot, you're taking the screenshot to show somebody something. So rather than having the screenshot just save itself into your Camera Roll and then having to go into your Camera Roll later on to share the screenshot with someone via whatever social networking means you use, a new jailbreak tweak called ScreenshotShareSheet by iOS developer Ethan Gill will let you share the screenshot immediately after taking it.

With ScreenshotShareSheet installed, the moment that you take a screenshot of your screen, a share sheet will appear at the bottom of your screen, as shown above. The share sheet will allow you to share the screenshot that you just took via Facebook, Twitter, text message, iMessage, e-mail, or Flickr. You can also assign the screenshot to a contact, copy the screenshot to your Clipboard, or open the screenshot in a third-party application, such as Dropbox or iFile.

ScreenshotShareSheet adds a preferences pane to your Settings application where you can configure a few important options:

Here, you will be able to enable or disable the tweak on demand, as well as choose a delay period for how long you want it to take for the share sheet to show up after you take a screenshot. You can also enable or disable the "Open in" functionality if you don't have any third-party applications that you would want to open your screenshots in, and there's also an option for enabling screenshot upload to Photo Stream.

ScreenshotShareSheet is handy for just about anyone that actually takes screenshots on their device. If you want to give the tweak a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for only 99.

    Name: ScreenshotShareSheet
    Price: 99

Tested on: iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Ethan Gill

ClipShot is free, but only does about 1 out of the 10 or more things that ScreenshotShareSheet does, so I have a hard time understanding why you think it would be better?

ClipShot only lets you pick between saving a photo to your camera roll or your clipboard, while ScreenshotShareSheet lets you share to social networks, open in third-party applications, AND save to your clipboard among other things.

Sure – but at the same time, ScreenshotShareSheet uses one of Apple's stock share sheets, and not a third-party mockup.

There are pros and cons to both, and depending on your uses, one might prefer ScreenshotShareSheet for the features.

    Default Sorry
    I agree with zachfawaz

If it had a one button do it all it would be nice. But to many of us it isn't a problem to share it manually via other apps like instagram. Because of space and environment I hate when an app has too many options.

Is this for iOS 7 only, or does it work on previous iOS versions as well?
