Fitbit Force to get iPhone-exclusive Caller ID Integration this February
FitBit which released its Force fitness tracker last October, didnít release all of the planned software features at its launch, namely notifications for incoming calls. According to a company representative, Caller ID functionality is currently being worked on and is scheduled for delivery in February 2014 via a free software update. The company has also shared a video showing the Caller ID integration on the Force. Those of you interested in watching it can see it below:
The feature seemingly comes in quite handy in several different situations such as when you receive a phone call while jogging. Caller ID just makes it easier to glance at your wrist and see whoís calling without ever needing to put out an iPhone from your pocket just to check who is calling. One thing that is interesting is that the Caller ID integration will be an iPhone exclusive feature. It will require an iPhone 4S or newer due to the need for power-efficient Bluetooth 4.0 networking and iOS 7.
Aside from Caller ID, the Bluetooth 4.0 enabled wrist-worn accessory records steps taken, distance traveled, stairs climbed, calories burned and active minutes, measures the quality of your sleep and more. The Force has a built-in OLED display that of course shows time, data pertaining to your activity, motivational reminders among other similar information. It has accelerometer, pedometer and altimeter sensors and packs in a vibrating alarm function.
The Force sells for $129.95 and is available in Black and Slate at the Fitbit store.

Been waiting patiently for this. It was supposed to be out by the end of the year. My guess is after sales decline a bit this will push them again.
