Default 'TapTodaysCalendar' Adds a Calendar App Shortcut to Notification Center in iOS 7

With iOS 7, Apple completely redesigned Notification Center. With the new design, you can tap on any of the stock symbols to open up the Stocks application, or tap on the weather information to open up the Weather application.

Interestingly, for whatever reason, tapping on the calendar data doesn't open the Calendar application. Seems a little inconsistent wouldn't you agree?

A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed TapTodaysCalendar by iOS developer ianb821 fixes this, giving the user the ability to tap on the date at the top of Notification Center to launch the Calendar application, as shown above.

It's a small modification, but it definitely adds a feature to iOS 7 that Apple seems to have forgotten all about. If you want to grab this tweak, it's available for free in Cydia's ModMyi repository.

    Name: TapTodaysCalendar
    Price: FREE
    Version: 1.0.0
    Requirements: iOS 7.0-7.0.4
    Repo: ModMyi
    Developer: ianb821

Guys, please confirm it works on a device BEFORE using that device in your news pictures.

I can confirm that it works on a iPhone 5.
But as I use Fantastical instead Apples calendar it's useless for me.

I can confirm that it does work on an iPhone 5s. You just have to touch a little lower. Not on the date itself but just below the calendar icon where your scheduled events are listed. Perhaps you should check a little before getting all hot and bothered.

Edit: They just updated it so that it works as described above in the article

Hopefully this is working now, any version greater than 1.0.2 supports 64 bit devices like your iPhone 5s. Please let me know if you have any other issues! Also I submitted an update today that will allow you to use any app if you prefer something other than the stock Calendar.app.

Great! Got mine set to open Fantastical.

Doesn't seem to work if you try to access it from the pull down on the Lockscreen if you have a Passcode enabled. It does work if the phone has been unlocked.

That's just how it should be...
I wouldn't like anyone to access my device when locked.

Working great on my 5s! Thanks.

Call me crazy but this works for me and I don't even have it installed. If you actually have an event in your calendar and press on that event from the notification center, the calendar application launches just fine. Unneeded tweak.

But does it open the calendar if you touch the day and date?? Top of screen?? That's what the tweak is. At least that is what I understood it to be.

You are crazy...for using iOS calendar app!

Opens any app you wish. Fantastical is 10x better than the default calendar.

If you prefer a crappy calendar, then un-needed indeed. To each his own.
