Default 'Percentage' Hides Your Battery Percentage Until it Really Matters

When it comes down to battery percentage, many iPhone owners are always vigilant. You never know when you’re going to get that important call or text message, and a dead battery means you won’t get it.

Stock from the factory, Apple’s iOS will show a battery icon in the Status Bar that shows the amount of juice left in the battery, but the user has to manually enable the Battery Percentage option from the Settings. Some users like it, because it shows more detailed information, while others hate it, because it clutters up the Status Bar even more than it already is.

For those that only want to see the numeric battery percentage when it's absolutely critical, a new free jailbreak tweak is now available in Cydia dubbed Percentage by iOS developer Aleksander Azizi.

With Percentage, only the battery icon will display in the Status Bar for the first 80% of battery capacity, but when your battery capacity reaches below 20%, the numeric battery percentage will begin to show in the Status Bar just in time for the user to actually start worrying about what the battery percentage is at. 20% is a generally critical battery capacity, as it's close to dying.

Percentage is compatible with both iOS 6 and iOS 7, and has been written to use very little amounts of memory. If you want to give Percentage a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for free.

So, is there something additional you're using in conjunction with 'percentage'? I have installed and uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted and resprung, with still an "87%" next to my battery.

Is there a report of any tweaks causing issues - could I have a tweak that is interfering?

I have only a few tweaks installed but nothing that is battery or status bar related.
