'Snoverlay' is a Festive New Jailbreak Tweak By Ryan Petrich – Happy Holidays!
It’s Christmas, and the snow, for those of you in locations cold enough for it, won’t be going away any time soon!
You can get into the holiday season with a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Ryan Petrich dubbed Snoverlay. This tweak will place an animated raining snowflake overlay over every interface that you open on your iOS device, as shown above.
The snowflakes rain down whether you're on the lock screen, on the home screen, in an application, or in Notification Center.
The tweak runs the smoothest on newer dual-core A5+ devices, but will run good enough on single-core A4 devices and still offer rather smooth animations at the cost of slightly sluggish performance in applications. Newer devices won't experience this "sluggishness."
This isn't the first time Petrich has made a fun jailbreak tweak solely for holiday purposes; he also made a free tweak called UpsideDown for April Fools day. Snoverlay isn’t on a public repository; it’s only available on Ryan Petrich’s beta repository. To download it, you’ll need to go into Cydia:
- tap on the Manage tab
- tap on the Sources button
- tap on the Edit button
- tap on the Add button
- enter the following URL and then tap Add Source: PHP Code:

Doesn't work on iPhone 5C. No options or anything. Does this get tested before we waste time trying?

Action Menu is by far my favorite tweak. I hope R. Petrich gets around to updating that one soon. They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

Crazy how many of us are dependent and patiently awaiting an update to mobile substrate... Looking forward to all Mr. Petrich has brought us in the past and will be releasing in the future...

It works on my iOS 7 iPhone 4, but renders the phone useless because of how sluggish it makes the phone. I've been trying for the last 10 minutes to delete it, but I can't log into Cydia while the Snowflakes are falling. BUT while it was running (and monopolizing all the resources on my phone), it did look cool

I've installed it but how do I get it to work

My 5c has it working fine.
