Analysts: 2 Out of 3 Americans Will Own iPhones by 2017
Asymco analyst Horace Dediu has a buoyant outlook for Apple's market growth in the United States.
Dediu's estimates are based on a series of analytics-driven factors, including the growth of the domestic smartphone market and Apple's brand saturation and product popularity across the United States. Having gone through the mathematical motions to reach his conclusions, Dediu's conclusions are the real story.
According to the analyst, America's embrace of Apple's iPhone is about to get much, much warmer.
If the numbers projected ultimately pan out, approximately two-thirds of Americans will own and use an iPhone by 2017. Based on population estimates at that time, as many as 180 million Americans will use Apple's iPhone within four years from now.

Why post this as news? Some unknown analyst makes up what is obviously nonsense and Michael Essany calls it news? Couldn't plagiarize anything worthwhile so this is what you come up with? Most Americans can't afford iPhones and that is why Android is selling so many more phones. That's about as clear as day and, unless the economy does something crazy that no one but this guy knows about, that won't change anytime soon. They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.

Maybe by 2017 you'll actually be able to customize iOS without jailbreaking.
