On Monday, the popular Shazam and Shazam Encore music-tagging applications for iOS have been updated, bringing the applications up to version 7.2.0. Shazam allows users to find out what music is playing around them it uses the device's microphone to listen to the beat of the song and match it to a song in the application's database, known as tagging.

With the update, Shazam has added in new integration with the popular Rdio music-streaming service, allowing Rdio users to listen to Shazamed tracked in the Rdio application as a playlist.

In addition, the application has been given a number of improvements, including the ability to include a large cover art image and a Shazam link to the song you choose to share via e-mail, YouTube video playback for the iPad, improved T.V. results for iPad, and a bug fix for iPhone 4 users that fixes a problem causing the navigation to disappear on the Explore screen.

For those that are already using Shazam or Shazam Encore, the update for the applications are available under the Updates tab in the App Store application.
