On Monday, the highly popular Shazam and Shazam Encore music-tagging applications for iOS have been updated to version 7.1.0, bringing some new features and bug fixes. Shazam received its last update in mid-September, giving the application a redesigned interface for iOS 7.

In Mondays update, Shazam has changed the Friends feed in the application to "news," which will now show you all of the things that your Facebook friends are tagging. The tag feed updates in real time as your friends tag new media. Shazam will also now notify you when artists are getting ready to release new albums, allowing you to stay in the loop with current and upcoming media releases.

The update also fixes a problem that could prevent iPhone 5s users from being able to Tweet the things that they tagged within the Shazam or Shazam Encore applications.

Existing users of either application will find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store for free. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Shazam from this App Store link for free, or the latest version of Shazam Encore from this App Store link for $6.99.
