Default 'CamVolZoom' Lets You Use the Volume Buttons to Zoom From Within the Camera App

For those that donít see a need for using the volume buttons on their iOS devices as shutter buttons in the Camera application, a new free jailbreak tweak called CamVolZoom by iOS developer PoomSmart will let you use them as zoom buttons instead.

As you would expect, pressing the volume up button while in the Camera application will zoom in, while pressing the volume down button while in the Camera application will zoom out. You can press the buttons one at a time for minor adjustments, or you can press and hold for a smooth zoom transition.

CamVolZoom also works whether you're in photo mode or video mode.

After you install the tweak, you can launch the Camera application and start taking advantage of the new feature. When you visit the Settings application, you'll find a preferences pane for the tweak that lets you adjust the slider adjustment amount, delay, duration, continuous zoom, and single zoom levels to your liking. You will also be able to enable or disable the tweak on demand.

CamVolZoom can be installed on any iOS device that has a camera and runs iOS 5.0 or later.
