Default Chitika: iOS 7 Adoption Already at 32%

On Friday afternoon, Chitika updated its iOS 7 adoption progress report. And the findings are impressive.

On Wednesday, Apple pushed iOS 7 live, once again making updates available over-the-air and through iTunes. So far, iOS 7 is outpacing iOS 6's adoption (after its first 48 hours of availability last year).

Two days removed from the formal launch of iOS 7, approximately 32% of North American iOS-based Web traffic is being generated by iOS 7 users. By comparison, it took 72 hours for iOS 6 to break the 30% adoption level.

Many of these new features were well received by users, and demand on Apple’s servers caused some to experience very slow download times or errors on launch day.
Chitika shared the above graph to highlight the impressive arrival and early adoption of iOS 7. To check out Chitika's full report, click here.

Haha only about 2% of all iOS devices are actually jailbroken. People don't realize that jailbreaking isn't that common among the general public. I would say most people don't even know what jailbreaking is. I say this because I work at 2 schools and a public library and most people don't even know what the term means other than prisoners just broke out of jail.

There may have been more if people hadn't gotten used to ridiculously slow update times on release day and the days following and simply waited for the chaos to slow down. I updated to the GM last Sunday and it took my IP5 about 15 min. Updated the wife's iPad mini today from 6 to 7 and it took an hour or more.

I'm not surprised! Almost 70% of people at my school have updated.

The day after it came out I was really surprised to see so many people using iOS 7. I didn't think others were as nuts as me lol!

    Probably both so it's unreliable

They measure web traffic not activation... Cellular activations of new phones would be a lower number because it wouldn't include iPods, older model iPhones being used only on wifi, and wifi only iPads.

So the statistics are flawed from the get go, pointless
