'LyricFlow' Offers An Eyecandy Music Selector Complete With Lyrics, Bios, and More
If you like music, and have a lot of it on your iOS device, then check out a new application in Cydia starting today dubbed LyricFlow by iOS developer Eric Castro. You might wonder why Apple's Music application was so boring after trying this beauty. LyricFlow integrates with the Music application seamlessly.
LyricFlow’s backbone is a Cover Flow-style music application that gathers all of the music from your Music library, and displays it in whatever style you choose:
You can see that there is a button in all four corners of the application. The back button takes you back to the song you were playing, the search button lets you search your music for a specific track, the Cover Flow button lets you change the style of your Cover Flow, and the list button lets you view all of the tracks in a specific album. You can also tap on an album artwork to begin playing that album.
When you tap on the search button, you will see all of the album artworks align in a beautifully-implemented animation, and you will be able to search for any track that might be in your music library:
When you tap on the Cover Flow button, the style of your Cover Flow will change. You can choose between the basic Cover Flow animation, the Linear animation, the Wheel animation, the Carousel animation, the Tube animation, or the Stack animation. As you alternate between the animations, you will see your album artworks animate and move to where they need to be to meet the requirements of the animation. It's quite cool, actually:
As you're listening to music from the LyricFlow application, you'll notice an iTunes 11-style interface. The background takes color traits from the album artwork, while the album artwork is actually displayed faintly in the background color. This view shows you all of the tracks in the album you're listening to, and shows you the artist biography on the left. You can pull down on the biography, almost like a pull to refresh, to view the lyrics of the currently-playing song; lyrics can scroll automatically with the progress of the song too. You'll also find a set of music controls in this interface:
As we can tell, LyricFlow is definitely an album-based music browser. The animations throughout the application, with the features included, make it a great addition to Apple’s own music application. Please note that because LyricFlow works off of your music library, it’s not meant for applications like Spotify, Pandora, or Rdio.
If you would like to give LyricFlow a try, you can download it for free from Cydia's BigBoss repository, as the developer offers most of the features for free. If you want to unlock full lyric functionality, which comes from LyricFind, you will need to upgrade the application for $3.99. LyricFlow is compatible with both iOS 5 and iOS 6.
Price: FREE ($3.99 upgrade)

Doesn't work at all on my 4s. Maybe because I use iTunes Match?

It's a cool tweak but it conflicts with "Volume Amplifier". I had to uninstall it.

Lagging on my i4 when scrolling through albums and why this tweak adds a icon on the home screen is beyond me. Nice tweak though.

The update today fixed the problem I was having. Pretty slick tweak!
