Yes, Google Reader did shut down quite some time ago, but there are still some other awesome RSS alternatives. For those that have already discovered them, you'll find that the new Reeder 2 application for iOS supports most of them.

Reeder 2 is a brand new version of Reeder for iOS, with all of the same features that we know and love. It is a universal application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and has been completely redesigned. Another thing we can tell right off the bat, is that Reeder 2 is optimized for iOS 7. The interface is flatter, the icon is flatter, and the application even takes advantage of iOS 7ís transparent keyboard.

Reeder 2 is, a separate application from Reeder for iOS. This means that all users, both new and old, will need to re-purchase the application from the App Store for $4.99.

Reeder 2 supports all of the following RSS services, and supports more than one account at once:

- Feedbin syncing
- Feedly syncing
- Feed Wrangler syncing
- Fever syncing
- Readability syncing
- Local/standalone RSS (no sync)

If you want to give Reeder 2 a shot, you can grab it from this App Store link for $4.99. Even though the application appears to be optimized for iOS 7, it will still run on iOS 6.1 and later.
