So you would rather get ripped off thinking you are getting something that is a genuine Apple product? If so, I have a MacBook Pro to sell you. It might look like a Dell but I assure you it is a Mac. It even has the Apple logo on it, don't mind that it is just a sticker, that's how all Macs are.

Lol. Fixing cellphones are one thing but when u start to infringe and say they are authentic apple parts/accessories someone has to step in.

The officers probably added that line to make the raid look legit.

Ether way, I repair iPhone's all the time, and I proudly buy all my FAKE parts from eBay!

Ugh. These are replica replacement parts that I, for one, am extremely glad to have available. I have fixed about 60-100 phones for friends, coworkers, and family using these cheap parts from eBay and Amazon. Sure, the original screens are stronger, but they cracked already anyway, right? $26.99 is a heck of a lot better than a $200 out-of-warranty replacement in the Apple Store.

Typically, they only know the ones with different colors are fake so only those get pulled from eBay as "counterfeit" unless the seller doesn't show any logos in the image or mention it in the description. What's stupid is that absolutely no one thought that pink iPhone part was an original "authentic" iPhone part like the quote above says. The screens don't even have logos or anything.

I'm sick and tired of them being called "fake" just because some parts have the logo that they aren't legally allowed to have. It's illegitimate and illegal, but no one thought they were original Apple parts.

Arrest those jerks and throw the book at them. If there's one thing I can't stand it's cheating.

Maybe you're right - only morons make up mean-spirited statistics.

Did anyone check to make sure those weren't actual iPhone 5C's?

Well Arundel Mills Mall does not draw the best and brightest crowd. The only reasons I ever go there any more is for Dave & Busters and the DuClaw restaurant and brew pub. If you ever get to try their beers they are fantastic. If you go to watch a late night movie at the huge theater there they have to keep a huge police presence so no one gets stabbed. I haven't been there since the Casino opened up so I don't know if it has gotten any better.

I've been in both stores and have to agree it was a big operation. Glass shelves full of iPhone parts. Everyone knows it knock off, but would you rather cough up $200 for a new screen at apple? Not me, although I'd rather have the better quality. These stores are a dime a dozen. Even the little carts that sell iPhone cases right outside the apple store in the mall offer replacement screens. The Zagg store displays replacement parts right out front of apple store and apple employees know it because one apple worker told me to go there instead of paying the high prices at apple. I don't think its a matter of selling the parts. They just can't have apple logos or packaging.

I actually got my iphone cracked screen replaced here... They did a pretty good job too. I remember seeing "Unlocked" iPhones for sale but wasnt in there long enough to really analyze them. They said they buy used iPhones. That would be a good cover-up to make people think they are real.

Sounds to me like you need to a concealed handgun license. Not to tempt fate but at least for protection against idiots!

if the consumer doesnt know what their buying, they shouldnt buy it. you have any idea how much people around me have a smart phone and has no idea how to make a simple call? you can try to sell your dell as a mac book, if the person doesnt know its a dell and fits his needs, then i see no problem. would you buy a computer for the name or what it does? would you buy a phone because its from apple or because it makes phone calls?

It is the responsibility/job of the seller to educate the consumer. And, if the seller is falsely advertising what they are selling then they are 100% at fault.

They can do color conversions....There is no wrong in that. If they never say that they have apple products, why do they get seized? Someone has to be real stupid to say anything that would give them away. All of my conversions have been done with quality glass, but have no "apple" info anywhere on my products. If they are just offering a color conversion, they can't be seized...if they are offering these as Apple Color Conversions, then yea, they deserve to get seized. So many people get busted on stupid stuff bc of ignorance

How stupid do you have to be to think that these are actual Apple products?? Narrow-minded at all? If you go to a place like this one, you surely can't think they are selling real products....ignorance is what it is. If you are going to spend 800+ on a laptop, you should be able to tell the difference in real and fake....just saying. Your pitch to him would be a joke to anyone that has any little common sense about Apple...If you go to these places to get a new screen or another color, you aren't getting ripped off, you know why they are cheaper, who wants to buy a brand new iPhone for $600 when you can get the broken lcd replaced for $120? Now, if your dumb enough to think that you are getting apple quality products, then you deserve to get ripped off. There is a reason APPLE STORES wont do anything but give/make you buy a new phone.

The products they were selling were sold as OEM products. They were in Apple packaging and had the Apple logos on the actual product. 99% of the people on this forum would know that they are not real Apple products. You are missing the point however. This was about protecting the innocent customer who is not necessarily a tech type of person. iPhones and iPads are used by more than just jailbreakers and the people on this forum seem to forget that quite often. Most people who have an iPhone just have it to make calls and browse the web, but there is nothing wrong with that.

What they were doing "color conversions" is not illegal by any means, it was they way it was being sold and marketed.

I would fix the phone or iPad myself, I enjoy doing that kind of stuff and I have the technical knowledge to do so.
