'CamBright' Makes Puts Your Display Brightness at 100% When You Open the Camera App
When trying to take a photo in high light or low light situations, it can be hard to see every detail in the frame on your display. Whether the high amount of light is creating glare, or the low amount of light makes it hard to see what will be in the frame, there is a new solution that can work for both situations in Cydia right now.
Dubbed CamBright by iOS developers Jack Willis and S1ReX, this new free jailbreak tweak makes it so that your display brightness automatically rockets up to 100% when you launch the Camera application. This helps to ensure that no matter the lighting conditions, you will be able to see your display at least half way decently.
Unlike opening and closing the Passbook application (the display moves to 100% brightness so scanners can see the content better), the display brightness won’t normalize again after closing the Camera application with this jailbreak tweak installed. We are hoping the developers will consider adding a feature like this so that the user can get back to other activities on their device after taking a picture without straining their eyes. Notably, you can manually adjust the brightness again from the Settings, or you can lock your device and unlock it again to fix your brightness setting.
On the other hand, the tweak does do a good job of making sure the display brightness is good at the time that you need to take a picture. If you would like to give the tweak a try, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for free.
