Yahoo Weather App Updated With Animated Weather Radar
Yahoo! Wednesday launched an update for their insanely popular Weather application for iOS, bringing the application to version 1.2. Yahoo! Weather maintains an impressive 4.5/5 star rating in the App Store, and had a lot of features borrowed from it in Apple’s iOS 7 Weather application.
Wednesday’s update adds a highly demanded feature – animated radar. With the animated radar, users can actually see the movement of storms and systems in the area, instead of a still illustration that gives the user almost no information on where the storm or system is headed.
The new feature adds a time controller at the bottom of the display, as well as a play button. As the scrubber moves through the time controller, the time of the current radar frame is displayed. Currently, the animated radar is only included in a limited number of countries. The United States is included.
The update also adds security improvements and stability improvements. Existing users of the application will find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of the Yahoo! Weather application from the App Store via this App Store link.
