Default 'ReturnDismiss' Offers an Easy Way to Dismiss Your Keyboard

Every once in a while you come across that inconvenient application or jailbreak tweak out there that lets you enter text, but doesnít offer much of a way to dismiss the keyboard without exiting the entire interface with the home button once you've finished typing. This is especially so with jailbreak tweaks that offer text input from the Settings application or from Notification Center.

Most applications offer support for double tapping anywhere outside of the keyboard to dismiss it. Unfortunately, there are a handful of applications out there that donít support this feature and it can be frustrating for users.

For these situations, a new free jailbreak tweak called ReturnDismiss by iOS developer RiDan will come in handy. The tweak lets you tap and hold on the Return key on the keyboard to make the keyboard disappear so you can get back to the interface youíre working in without having to close out of it completely.

ReturnDismiss doesn't have any options to configure after installation. If you want to try the tweak to see if it can help you with your keyboard troubles, it's available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for free.

I can see this being useful. Many chat or texting apps require you to tap in just the right spot to dismiss the keyboard. This kind of brings some of the functionality of the iPad keyboard.
