Default Founders of YouTube Launch New MixBit Application Into the iOS App Store

Founders of YouTube, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, have Thursday launched a new free application in Apple’s iOS App Store called MixBit. The application is unsurprisingly an application that has to do with video recording and video sharing.

When you open the application for the first time after downloading it, you will be showed through the application with a tutorial interface. Afterwards, you will get the video news feed shown above on the left. By tapping on a video, you will be able to watch it, as well as watch the video’s individual clips known as “bits.” Bits are shown in order underneath the video in the application, as shown above on the right.

According to the app description, your videos can be as short as one second, or as long as one hour. Each bit can have a maximum length of 16 seconds, but it will all be saved to MixBit as a seamless video after you have put the bits in order and edited them to your liking.

When you see something you like, the application comes with sharing options that you can use to spread the video all over the Internet via the means of social networking sites, text messaging, and more:

You'll also find a menu button that lets you get to your profile, view the featured MixBits of the day, view the MixBit projects that you're working on, and view the videos that you have uploaded to MixBit:

You can check out the new MixBit application in the iOS App Store for free via this App Store link.

This one has a potential. Its a good way to bypass the 15 sec limit of Instagram or Vine.

Great potential! And quite a nice looking and self explanatory UI.

Just what I was thinking. It's almost like using Vine for twitter in a way.
