Kantar: iPhone Share Outpacing Android in US, U.K., France
Kantar Worldpanel finds in a new report that the iOS phone share is strong and growing stronger - at Android- expense - in key markets around the world today as well as in the ultra-competitive U.S. market.
Year-over-year, iOS claimed market gains in the United States, Great Britain and France, even though Android's popular surge and market saturation has been more pronounced than ever in the last twelve months.
"Android has retained its lead in smartphone sales for the 3 month period ending June 2013, with a 51.5% sales share of the smartphone market, while iOS follows with 42.5%, growing 3.3% compared to last year," Kantar Worldpanel ComTech reported Monday.
For the three months ending June 2013, iOS sales were made up of 40% sales from Verizon, 39% from AT&T, 10% from Sprint and 8% from T-Mobile.

It's cos every mothers carrier has droids, originally only AT&T had iOS. But with the addition of Verizon and sprint, I was finally able to get my own account and not be on my brothers family plan, through Sprint. The problem has always been not as many carriers could do iOS, this latest addition of T-Mobile opened it up wide.
If there were more carrier choices for iOS, it would beat droid black and blue. But for now it holds its own
