'InstaLauncher' Gives You Easy Access to Any Application From Anywhere
If you find yourself always wanting to use several applications at once, and need an easier way to find an access them, then look no further than a new jailbreak tweak called InstaLauncher by iOS developer Jonathan Winger Lang.
Shown above, InstaLauncher gives you an easy-to-use and intuitive application-launching interface that can be pulled up from any application or from the home screen via an Activator action.
After you have invoked the Activator action of your choice, you will get the interface above on the right, allowing you to pick from recently opened applications, or from a group of favorite applications. You can slide your finger up or down on the letter scale at the left side of the interface at the left to bring up all the applications in alphabetical order on your iOS device. You can also access the alphabetical slider on the right side of the display if you want to by simply tapping on the right side of the display.
Because applications are organized in alphabetical order, it’s really easy to find what you’re looking for. If you want to open the ModMyi application really quick, all you’ll need to do is move your finger down to the M section and tap on the ModMyi application to open it.
InstaLauncher adds a preferences pane to the Settings application where you can configure some of the tweak’s options:
First, you will be able to configure the Activator action that you want to use to bring up the interface. After you do that, you will be able to configure the applications that will be hidden from the interface, choose to hide or show the recent applications panel and configure its layout, choose to hide or show the favorite applications panel, pick the applications that go inside of it, and configure its layout, and choose to show or hide the selection cursor.
Both the recent applications and favorite applications panels can have their layouts configured so that you see a grid of application icons, application lists, or vertical icons.
InstaLauncher is a pretty neat jailbreak tweak, and the interface is easy to learn and get used to. Currently, the tweak works with iOS 5 and iOS 6 and works on the iPhone, iPod touch, and even the iPad. If you want to grab it, you will find it in Cydia’s BigBoss repository for just $1.99.
