Galaxy S4 Sales Best iPhone 5 at Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile
Samsung's Galaxy S4 is a hot item in mobile today.
The flagship Samsung smartphone has topped iPhone 5 sales at Verizon, Sprint & T-Mobile stores. AT&T is the only carrier at which the iPhone 5 continues to lead all smartphone sales. But even at AT&T, the Galaxy S4 was the second best-selling mobile phone.
This information comes from data procured directly from wireless store surveys by researchers at Canaccord Genuity.
“We believe Samsung on the strength of strong Galaxy S4, S III, and Note II sales surpassed Apple to gain top share of the U.S. smartphone market for the first time since the iPhone 5 launch,” explained Michael Walkley, the Canaccord Genuity analyst who conducted the survey.
So what does this information truly reveal? It's tough to say and for obvious reasons.
"That may look like a milestone, but the report should be taken with a grain of salt," says Brian Chen of The New York Times. "The survey doesn’t include Apple’s retail stores, where many iPhones are sold. And it remains to be seen whether Samsung can beat Apple in sales after Apple releases a new iPhone (or even a cheaper iPhone, as rumors suggest)."

A brand new release phone outsold a 9 month old phone... Wow I would've never guessed. Glad to know I have reports like these to let me know!

Well the IP5 competes with the S3....the New IP5S or 6 will compete with the S4.
So Biased toward S4

The GS4 is a brand new phone and the i5 is going to be obsolete in a few months - If the GS4 did not outsell the i5 at this point then there would be seriously something wrong.

I was a big fan and still am in a sense of apple and their products but until apple wakes up and makes some major changes with this phone (and we all know what most people want myself included) I don't see the iphone as the "it" device anymore.

i am a fanboy since i have own my first iphone 3G and passes through 3gs an ip4 and i still have my ip4s but i have skipped the ip5 for the leak of major update over ip4s note enough for me so i get an G-S3 and no doubt i didn't need to straggle with jailbreak and and tweak to get the basic option for a daily phone use it's all there preloaded all i need was there ok almost all it's like Samsung listening to the iphone owners need it's very stable phone if i don't mess with the root and try other ROMs that give me different experience like the Sony z or the Htc one or Nexus.
the only thing that i don't like about Android os is the poor quality of the App's i have try plenty of app's but only some few app give me the same or better experience than ios app's but that hasn't prevented me from using it as my premium phone (sorry IP4s you are not pretty any more ).
in my opinion Apple need to listen more to the need of the consumer and give the user more control aver the look an feel of the OS Ui they have to bring something to bring me back to the isheep ;-)

I still will choose quality over quantity. Numbers do not tell the story, its customer experience.

What they don't tell you is those carriers are encouraged to sell Android phones over the iPhones as there are more commission rewards for selling Android. How do you know? Go try to buy an iPhone and listen to Reps trying to talk you out of it.

8lias, you are spot on. Last 3 times I took my son to ATT to have his droid phone repaired, all I could hear we're salesmen talking dopey customers to a droid.
And to you droid fans on here who "love this", go blow up your girlfriend and take a 5 minute break away from your phone and do your thing.

I don't even know what you guys are even babbling about. It says they don't include apple store sales. Who really goes to the carrier stores and buys them anyways? Only older people that don't know what they are buying do and then they get talked about of the iphone anyways. I have never stepped foot into an att store. All my iphones have been purchased online through apples website.

It seems to me that the article a little ways below this shows a more interesting, and accurate, statistic:

one phone was just released the other is 10 months old. not really news kind of inevitable. check back again when the 5S or 6 or whatever name the next iphone is called is out and it will be back to normal. although i do think this might be a declining year in sales if it is a 5S with minor upgrades.

To best something is to beat. But for real. Insulting someone because you think he made a type-o when the word best fits just fine and makes perfect sense? Geez
