'App Activate' Lets You Invoke Acitvator Actions By Double Tapping Specific App Icons
Activator is a very handy jailbreak tweak on its own, but a new free jailbreak tweak called App Activate by iOS developer rjharris can make it even handier.
App Activate lets you assign Activator actions to up to five application icons. When you double-tap on those application icons, the Activator action that you have assigned to them will take effect. You can configure the five applications you want to assign Activator actions to, as well as the specific Activator actions you want to assign to each in the Settings application via both the App Activate preferences pane and the Activator preferences pane:
The tweak comes in handy in many situations. For example, you can set double-tapping on the Messages application icon to composing a new text message or iMessage, double-tapping on the Mail application icon to composing a new e-mail message, or even double-tapping on the Music application to easily play or pause your music. There are several other useful combinations that you can configure as well; it all comes down to the user's creativity.
The developer notes in the Cydia description that the tweak makes a powerful combination with Ask Assistant, a jailbreak tweak that lets you create Siri queries that are asked whenever you invoke an Activator action that you assign to the queries. For example, if you created a Siri query that would launch Siri and ask, “How do I get home?” whenever a specific Activator action is invoked, this would make a great action for double-tapping on the Maps application via the power of App Activate. This tweak combination is pretty awesome, and we can't help but recommend it too!
App Activate is available in Cydia’s BigBoss repository for free if you'd like to give it a shot. The tweak requires Activator. You will need a Siri-capable device in order to use the Ask Assistant and App Activate combination, but Siri isn’t required if you are using App Activate alone.

It's a pity that Apptivator was never upgraded to iOS 6. It was allowed you to assign Activator actions to ALL springboard icons, not just 5.

I'll wait to see hos stable it is.... don't want to lose JB.

I've been using it for a day now with no issues. It's a fairly simple tweak. I just wish it allowed more than 5 redirects.

Does App Activate "suppress the first tap" for the 5 Application icons that you choose?
If so does the next "single tap" trigger normal operation for the App icon?
Ex) If you double-tap the clock to start the 'stopwatch' function of the clock, does the stopwatch really start? Then if you return to the home-screen and then 'single-tap' the clock icon, does it bring up the already running stopwatch?
Other than Messages, or SIRI usage (Siri seems gimmicky/flaky to many), or the Clock to start stopwatch, what other good examples could App Activate be used for?
Lastly, does App Activate work on non-Apple iOS installed apps? For instance can I double tap on my Internet Radio App icon and have it immediately go to my favorite station and start playing that station's live internet stream?
Some more answers please... Thanks in advance and some of us will be happy to pay for App Activate if it is truly as useful as we hope it can be or will be.

Double tapping any assigned icon will do any Activator action. So, no, in your example, it would only start the stopwatch if there is an Activator action to do this (I don't think that exists.) The single tap still works, so a single tap launches the app, and a double tap does whatever Activator action you have assigned. The uses are only limited by what you can already do with Activator (which is a ton!)
Some uses for this tweak:
-Double tap the Music icon to Play/Pause the music.
-Double tap Mail to open a Compose sheet.
-Double tap Maps to open Google Maps.
My last example is what I like it for best. I can use it to essentially launch 2 different apps with the same icon.
I just wish it wasn't limited to 5 icons. I'd gladly pay for this to have my Apptivator back
Oh, and this tweak is free, so no worries about its cost

Great tweak, looking forward for an update to more than 5 apps to activate.
