Facebook 6.1 Released With Enhanced Photo Viewer, Improved Speed, and More
Those rocking the Facebook application on their iOS device(s) can head over to the App Store right now to download an updated version of the application, which is now version 6.1. The update was released Monday afternoon.
In today's update, Facebook has improved the usability of the Photo Viewer, adding options to save the photo, share the photo, or make the photo a profile picture. These features stack upon the existing Like feature, comment feature, and others that have been in the iOS Facebook application for some time now.
In addition, Facebook has made it easier to edit information when checking into places via the Facebook application for iOS, and has made it so Events load much faster on the iPhone.
Notably, Facebook also appears to have changed the application icon in this update. It looks like a blueprint:
The Facebook application update is available for all existing users in the App Store’s Updates tab; alternatively, users can download the latest version of Facebook for iOS via this App Store link.
Update: Facebook just launched version 6.1.1 of the application that fixes the application icon.

My icon hasn't changed...

ADDENDUM: Haven't updated my iPad to version 6.1.1 and took a look at the info plist. The icon 6.1 had was the 'in-house' icon they use when they are internally testing the app, it appears. The 'normal' icons are in the app bundle still but they weren't used by accident. That makes sense for them to remove the 'in-house' icons and change the icons that show to be the 'normal' ones. But they can be saved for future use... ;-)
I was having problems on my devices on 6.1 earlier today where it would randomly crash when switching between news feeds and friends (lists') feeds, or to switch between most recent and top stories. I hope this update fixed that. I haven't checked since I have no ability to use FB right now.

Same icon thing happened a few months back with the fb messenger app.. I guess they just forgot to turn that layer off while rendering the icon img..

Is it just me or did anyone notice that icon they first did has a "flat" look to it? Kinda like iOS 7 is supposed to be.

I have downloaded fb6.1.1 on ip5 6.1 and the app is randomly crashing. It doesnt stay open for more than 2 minutes... However if i put the device on safe mode it works perfectly.. So i guess there is a conflict with a jailbreak app or tweak!
