Default 'ipEQ for iPhone' Adds an Equalizer to the Music Application in iOS

For those of you looking to improve your music experience on your iOS devices, it would be wise to check out a new jailbreak tweak called ipEQ for iPhone by iOS developer Chef von Australien.

The tweak, shown above, adds a new button to the Music application in iOS so that you can access equalizer controls for your music. The tweak comes complete with a low pass filter, high pass filter, high shelf filter, and bass booster; all of which are customizable to your own liking.

Settings are set via sliders, and each feature can be turned on or off via toggle switches. You will notice your changes to the equalizer settings in real time without the need to respring, or even pause and re-play your music.

If you’re looking to improve your sound quality, or even just add a touch of customization to the sound that comes from your music, then ipEQ for iPhone is a tweak you will want to check out. Notably, it only works for the Music application. If you’d like to give it a shot, it’s available in Cydia’s BigBoss repository for $2.

    Name: ipEQ for iPhone
    Price: $2.00
    Requirements: iPhone, iOS 6
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Chef von Australien
    Editor's Rating:  4/5

Interesting they claim to be the first EQ for the iPhone. If I recall correctly, back when the first lock screen tweak ever to be released, Catepillar from Ripdev, had featured an EQ for the iPhone. Pretty nifty and missed feature I must say.

you are right. I've been trying to have something similar ever since Caterpillar was discontinued, so this is still good news. better late than never. but not the first that's for sure.

Yeah... To this day I still think Caterpillar were one of the better tweaks ever available.

This tweak needs work. The arrow to open the EQ works 1/10 of the time. It also causes the music app in general to be less responsive. Ended up uninstalling cause I listen to music a lot.

It definitely crashes. It just got updated, so ill see if that changes anything.

*edit* ah! They moved the eq menu button up. Much better. It used to sit right where the airplay button was on the bottom right of the music app, and you had to press it 10 times to get it to respond.

Music related tweaks... Not too many of them it seems... Lots of themes to change our music app skin though... Nice to see another dev implement a tweak for the music app... Haven't tried it yet but I'm still stoked on the idea of it... If it could only pop up the eq from the settings pane for the music app as well... Hope it's not too buggy...

This may make me move back to the stock music app again. Now, if someone could incorporate a "Favorites" option like the iRemix app did, I would be a happy camper.

It doesn't work with music imported through mewseek.

Not surprising, considering the fact that you're STEALING MUSIC!!
