Thread: Slide Down on App Switcher Icons to Close the Apps With 'Slide2Kill'

Default Slide Down on App Switcher Icons to Close the Apps With 'Slide2Kill'

Those of you looking to improve upon the stock App Switcher without replacing it with an App Switcher alternative should check out a new free jailbreak tweak called Slide2Kill by iOS developer Suu.

As the name implies, you will be able to slide down on application icons that display in the iOS App Switcher to remove them from the multitasking tray. You merely grab the icon and flick it down, just like you do in the popular Auxo App Switcher alternative.

Sliding down on the application feels a lot more fluid than having to hold down on the application icons to put them in jiggle mode and then tap on little close buttons at the top left of each application icon. It is a lot faster too!

Slide2Kill does not come with any options to configure and is available for free in Cydia's BigBoss repository if you're interested in giving it a whirl.

    Name: Slide2Kill
    Price: FREE
    Version: 0.0.2
    Repo: BigBoss
    Developer: Suu
    Editor's Rating:  4/5

I use SBSettings for bulk deletions. However, this is brilliant for getting rid of just the unwanted apps.

Much like swipeaway without the close all apps feature. Im gonna give this a try anyway

  5. #4
I'm having trouble using this. It's difficult to swipe the app away. Anyone else?

me too! sliding down works not perfect. sometimes it works and sometimes not. if you grab an icon and than you swipe down this method works much better on my device. i think the developer must update this tweak for better performance.

Eh, it's a bit more difficult to do without Auxo's taller icons.

auxo has the swipe down or tap and hold to close all apps feature

SwipeAway tweak is much better (along with switchy)

Obviously. Auxo is 2,127 kb. SlideToKill is 52 kb. Auxo is $2. SlideToKill is free. There's no comparison. I've never tried Auxo personally. Just seen videos and read reviews.

I wish there was trial so I could try. I know it's only 2 bucks but don't wanna spend 2 bucks for 2 minutes if I don't like it.

Very rarely do I just kill one or two apps. I use KillBackground (free) to kill everything and if I really need to just kill a single app, I use the regular iOS method. Don't think I'll try this despite it only being a small file.

    Auxo is easier to use.

its great. works alot better on my ipad 3 than my iphone 4, both on 6.1.2. on my i4 i need to hold it down the whole way rather than just a swipe. surprised it took this long for someone to implement this though, seeing as auxo is almost 6 months old
