Facebook Messenger has Monday received an update to version 2.4 with support for Facebook’s new Sticker feature, allowing users to send each other the new-fangled emoticons through the Facebook Messenger application, and not just the Facebook application with the messenger function. Facebook first brought the Facebook Stickers feature to iOS last month when they updated the Facebook application to version 6.0.

The Facebook Stickers are accessed by tapping on the face icon in the text field of the Facebook Messenger application. From there, the user will be able to scroll through several different Facebook Stickers and choose the one that they want to send to the recipient.

The update also gives users the ability to swipe messages to delete them, a feature that is commonly available in other iOS applications. This feature used to be in the Facebook Messenger application, but was removed. Facebook notes that the feature has been added back due to popular request.

Facebook Messenger’s update also brings some minor bug fixes and stability improvements to the application. Existing users of the application will find the update under the Updates tab in the App Store. Alternatively, users can download the updated Facebook Messenger application from the App Store for free via this App Store link.
