Default Yahoo! Weather Released in the App Store

Yahoo has Thursday released a new Yahoo! Weather application for iOS. The new weather application certainly wows us with a wonderful user interface, and gorgeous graphics.

Depending on the location used, Yahoo! Weather shows a specific background. Above that background, the application shows the current temperature, the high and low temperature, and the weather conditions; at the top of the application are the time and the name of the location.

When you tap on the current temperature, a weather sheet shows up showing you the forecast for the next five days. It includes an hourly weather forecast for the current day, just like the iOS weather application. Icons are used to indicate if it will be sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc. Temperature can be changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice-versa via the application's settings.

While youíre in the five-day forecast sheet, you can scroll down to reveal information about the humidity, visibility, radar map, precipitation, wind, solar, and lunar information.

Like the iOS weather application, you can add as many locations as you would like to, or you can just use your current location. Yahoo!ís new Weather application is a huge step up from the iOS weather application, and itís free. You can grab the universal app from this App Store link.

What's is with the icon? The app is beautiful, but the icon looks horrible.

AB Have you come across any recent JB apps that can launch an App on the lockscreen and keep it full screen? There has to be a way to put beautiful apps like this on a Jailbroken iPhone's lockscreen. Anyone?

Is there any way to make this new weather app replace the horrible native weather app?

    No
Widget-Weather App Now Available! Also with MyLocation Support!
Check out the thread here - Widget-Weather
To install the Widget-Weather app, just go to Cydia and install. This will also remove MyLocation, as it is built in!
Want to protect your JailBreak! Add this repo http://cydia.myrepospace.com/iLEXiNFO/ & Install "iLEX R.A.T."
It will allow you to bring your phone back to a fresh jailbroken state!

I gotta say, I'm impressed with the Yahoo Weather app too.

I've been using it all day. It feels more informative than the stock Weather app (well, it is more informative lol), and it just looks good.

Yahoo scored a homer with this one! Now if one of our Jailbreak Geniuses can muster up a tweak to have this app as a lock screen... ((((praying))))

That's pretty sick. What's it called? Or is it just a concept?

This is awesome, but the radar map is painfully slow to gen on screen. Needs to be almost instant and I'm consistently waiting for 5 to 10 seconds or more for it to gen. Doesn't sound like a long time, but it is when you're staring at the screen waiting.

And sometimes, it just doesn't finish generating at all. BOOOO!

Yeah, it is rather slow for me too. I've never had it take 10 seconds but it usually takes around 4 or 5. Hopefully that will be sorted out in the first update.
