'TransparentCameraBar' Lets You Choose the Opacity of the Camera App Bar
The Camera application is a good-looking application for sure, however in terms of usability, there is one thing Apple could have done to make sure that users get a better view of what they’re about to snap a picture of – making the bottom bar transparent, similarly to how it looks when capturing video.
Users are now able to do this when shooting photographs with a new free jailbreak tweak called TransparentCameraBar by iOS developer PoomSmart. TransparentCameraBar allows you to choose an opacity level for the bar at the bottom of the Camera application so that you can see more of what you’re taking a picture of.
The opacity level is chosen from the Settings application in the TransparentCameraBar preferences pane:
The tweak can also be enabled or disabled at any time with the toggle switch in the preferences pane. Setting the slider value to 1.0 will also make the camera bar look stock without any transparency.
If you’re looking for additional camera-enhancing tweaks, check out some more of PoomSmart’s jailbreak tweaks such as:
- LLBiPT5 – enable low light boost mode on iPod touch 5G
- Still Camera Enabler – enable capturing still images while recording video on iPod touch 5G
- FaceDetectionVideo4S – enable face detection while shooting video on iPhone 4S
- Flashorama – enable the camera flash when shooting panorama photos
Requirements: iOS 6
