Vexil Lets You Customize Your Lock Screen With Colors and Animations
If you’re looking for the tweak that’s going to let you colorize your lock screen interface elements to the extreme, then Vexil by iOS developer Smartviper E75 just might be a tweak worth taking a look at.
As shown above, the tweak lets you colorize just about every element of the lock screen. You can choose a color for the clock, a color for the slider, a color for the top and bottom bars on the lock screen, and even choose a border color for the two. In addition to colors, the tweak also lets you add some animations to these lock screen elements to bring the lock screen to life.
From the preferences pane in the Settings application, you can configure the tweak’s options. The options are split into 3 major groups – Top Bar, Bottom Bar, and More. The Bottom Bar preferences are shown below:
You will be able to set an animation for the bottom bar, and enable or disable the animation at any time. The animations you can pick from include:
- Flip From Left
- Flip From Right
- Curl Up
- Curl Down
- Cross Dissolve
- Flip From Top
- Flip From Bottom
You will also find a place to pick your colors for the bottom bar, the bottom bar border color, and a color for the slide to unlock knob. The list of colors is extensive, and will fit most people's tastes. The tweak even gives you a place to type in your own custom slider text.
Also, you will find a group labeled top bar in the tweak's preferences, which is shown for you below:
For the top bar, you’ll be able to enable and disable the same animations, as well as pick and choose from the same color choices for the top bar and top bar border.
The tweak will even give you the option to adjust the position of the lock screen clock, making it either centered, left-aligned, or right-aligned. The clock color can be adjusted, as well as the clock text. The user can do the same with the lock screen date text.
From the More section of the tweak’s preferences, users will find a ton of experimental options that aren’t quite ready for their prime time. Since they’re experimental, you can dig into them on your own if you're interested. Some of the notable experimental features include:
- Hiding charging view
- Hiding the top bar
- A super lock screen mode
- tapUnlock fix
Some of the non-experimental features under the more section include the ability to enable and disable the Status Bar clock, which might be helpful if you choose to hide the lock screen clock in the top bar, the ability to adjust the width of the lock screen slider, and the ability to choose a custom dim delay for the lock screen.
While most of the things in the More section are experimental, the tweak still offers a solid structure for choosing your own lock screen colors and animations. It’s great for those that can’t stand looking at a bone-stock lock screen, and it’s sure to make your iPhone stand out from the rest. Vexil is available in Cydia right now for 99¢.

This tweak is great! Looks like it can replace two of the tweaks I already have, plus some extra cool stuff. Testing it out now.

Any idea if this will work with LockInfo and still change colors and use the animations?

What animations does it have?

Seems to play nicely with SubtleLock, Unfold, and LockInfo.
