Rovio Makes the Original Angry Birds Free, Adds 15 New Levels

Rovio has just made their hit game Angry Birds free in the App Store for the first time in history. According to TechCrunch, the game has been chosen for the App of the Week. This is the original version of the game without any Space, Star Wars, Rio, or Seasonal twists to it.

It’s also notable that not only is the iPhone and iPod touch version of the game currently free in the App Store, but so is Angry Birds HD for the iPad. These games are normally 99¢ and $2.99 respectively.

Rovio's popular Angry Birds game has also received an additional 15 brand new Bad Piggies-themed levels in an update to version 3.1.0 Thursday morning.

Existing users will be able to find the update from the Updates tab in the App Store and download it for free. New users will be able to download Angry Birds for free for a limited time from this link (iPhone or iPod touch) or this link (iPad).
