'Flashorama' Lets You Enable the Flash While Shooting Panorama Pictures
iOS 6 shipped with a new panorama feature for the Camera application. The feature is enabled on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPod touch 5G. While the feature is nice, Apple left out one important feature – what do you do when the lighting conditions aren't great? Apple has actually disabled the ability to use the flash while taking a panorama shot.
To fix this, a new jailbreak tweak called Flashorama by iOS developer PoomSmart will give the user the ability to enable the camera flash while shooting a panorama picture if they want to.
Flashorama adds the flash on/off button back to the Camera interface while shooting a panorama picture. When off, the button is transparent, while when on, the button turns yellow. The tweak will have no negative impact on your panorama picture results, as you have the option to toggle the flash in dark lighting conditions at your leisure. So it's just a handy option.
Flashorama is available for free right now in the BigBoss repository. The tweak has been tested on iOS 6 only and can only be installed on an iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, or iPod touch 5G, as these are the only devices that support the panorama feature on iOS 6. The tweak can be enabled or disabled at any time from the Settings application.
Also, while checking out Flashorama, check out more of PoomSmart's jailbreak tweaks for the Camera application that enable features Apple disables by default:
- LLBiPT5 – enable low light boost mode on iPod touch 5G
- Still Camera Enabler – enable capturing still images while recording video on iPod touch 5G
- FaceDetectionVideo4S – enable face detection while shooting video on iPhone 4S
Requirements: iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, or iPod touch 5G running iOS 6
