Chrome for iOS Updated with a Slew of Features

Shortly after an update to Chrome for Android last week, Google ended up recently updating Chrome for iOS for the first time since December. The Android version of the app included several features such as improved scrolling performance, increased responsiveness for pinch zooming on pages and faster interactive pages with the iOS app receiving an update with the ability to long-press on the back button to quickly access any page in the tab history.

The newest version of the free mobile browser allows iOS users to share a web page via Messages and also includes several stability enhancements as well as unspecified security improvements and bug fixes. Another notable feature that was included by Google includes the ability for iOS users to see their search term in the omnibox instead of the long search URL. According to Google:

This will help you refine search queries and view more content on the results page. This feature will roll out in the coming weeks, so you may not see it right away after upgrading.

DO NOT UPDATE as if you do you will no longer be able to use it. Out of the 20 or so reviews i think 1 person has it working.

Doesn't work for me on my iphone 5.

I had a problem on both ipad and iPhone and both are jailbroken. Not sure if only jailbroken devices are effected but you can either reinstall it which worked on my ipad or try this method which I did on my iPhone http://bit.ly/165mjr7

However i uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled it. Works fine now.

I can relate with you. I have an iPad jailbroken on iOS 6.0.1 and an iPhone jailbroken on 6.1.2 and Chrome crashes after a couple seconds after launch. Tried reinstalling but nothing works.

Updated last night and haven't used it since. Saw the comment about the bugs so I just test it. My jailbroken iPad 2 is crashing upon button press. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall and see if it fixes the issues.

Reinstalling did nothing. If you haven't updated yet I would advise against it until the issues are resolved. Back to Safari I guess...

Well what the heck. After reading this I tried clicking the "Share data with Google to make the world a better place" box and now it's all working perfectly fine! Isn't that just handy

Saw this on a few places" "Share data with Google to make the world a better place" makes the app work on a reinstall.

Give your phones a reboot! Mine kept crashing until I did rebooted and now it works perfectly.
