Default 'QuickShoot' Allows You to Take Pictures Inconspicuously

When taking pictures in iOS, itís always clear to everyone around you that youíre doing so because you can visibly see the camera interface. For those of you trying to take pictures without being noticed, there is a new option for you. A new free jailbreak tweak called QuickShoot by iOS developer flux will let you double-tap on the Camera application icon from the home screen to quickly snap a photograph.

When you do so, you will not get a preview of the photograph you are taking, and the image will be stored in your camera roll immediately. Additionally, the camera interface will not even show, so no one around you will even know that you just took a picture. Also, if you are not on silent mode, the shutter noise will still go off, so it's a good idea to switch your device to silent mode before using the tweak if you're trying to be inconspicuous.

One thing thatís obvious about QuickShoot is that it takes somewhat underexposed photographs. This is because the camera doesn't really get much of a chance to prepare itself for the current lighting in the amount of time that it quickly shoots a photograph. That being said, the tweak is mostly just a proof of concept at this point in time.

The developer tells us an update is coming soon that will include options for flash, focus, and exposure. For the time being, if you just make sure that you take pictures in high-light situations, you should still be able to take halfway decent photographs. QuickShoot is available in Cydia right now and requires iOS 6.

    Name: QuickShoot
    Price: FREE
    Version: 1.0-1
    Requirements: iOS 6
    Repo: Bigboss
    Developer: flux

I like the concept, however with the flash being an option in a future version its not going to be very inconspicuous

Installed the tweak and flash comes on when I use the tweak in a well lit room. Flash is set to off in my camera.

    Uninstalling.

He should add an option to use an activator gesture too, that would make things much better

This would be nice if the lockscreen camera icon worked the same way.

Doesn't work for me at all. The LS jiggles up on the first tap, so Idk if that affects it. Ive tried just repeatedly tapping the camera grabber but a picture was not taken

Tap the Camera application icon twice from the home screen, not the grabber

Or if you need to take a fast photo before waiting for the camera to load. There are sometimes the camera takes a tiny bit to load.

Yeah, not sure about the usefulness of a camera app where I can't actually see what I'm shooting at.
Is it in focus? Out of focus? Is the subject even in shot?

works really well.turn off you flash and sound. display memory usage using sbsettings. watch the ram dip and return to normal as you double tap the camera. know that your photo was taken.

SlyCam is an alternative. You can put it in your NC or on one of your home screens with dashboardX

Yeah the flash needs to be disabled somehow before this app is even worth the trouble of being sneaky.
