Default Samsung: Galaxy S IV Coming March 14th

On Monday morning in Barcelona at the start of Mobile World Congress 2013, Samsung confirmed that it's eagerly anticipated Galaxy S IV will be formally unveiled next month, as the rumor mill expected.

The most hyped smartphone in Samsung history will have a press event in its honor to herald its debut on March 14th. As of this writing, however, it isn't known what the actual release date of the device will be.

“We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)… as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,” Samsung Electronics’ mobile division chief JK Shin said this morning, according to Reuters.

Samsung Electronics may have lost its lead in the U.S. handset market but globally the $210 billion South Korean giant is expected to widen its smartphone advantage over its Cupertino, California-based rival this year, helped by a broad product line-up.
Although speculation abounds as to the features packed into Samsung's next smartphone, the new Galaxy S model “is expected to feature a higher-resolution display and camera than its predecessor, as well as a faster quad-core processor."

I hope they blow it out of the water so apple actually realizes they need to innovate.

Apple is too arrogant to realize they need to innovate. Remember back in the day when the lost soooo much market-share because of the "they're MY marbles" attitude. They WILL fall again.

Curious to see what innovation they bring or will they be like apple and just update existing hardware.

Here's hoping Samsung unveil an awesome product. Competition makes products better and Apple needs the kick in the butt!

You mean you wouldn't root and flash custom ROMs ahead of official releases? I have 4.1.2 on a device that only gets Gingerbread (and it's faster than stock).

Did all that when I had a S2. Some of the ROMs were pretty nice but all of them had some bug or something else that I couldn't live with. Ended up putting it back at stock and havent tried since. Stock Android is good enough to keep me entertained.

You do realize Ubuntu is based on Cyanogen Mod 10.1 code, right? It's still Android underneath.

Get into the AOSP based ROM's. That is the stock android. Some like Paranoid Android have tablet mode, and custom DPI's for all your apps. CM10 is flawless for the Nexus 4.

Agreed, the HTC One is one powerful phone. Didn't bother to look into the upcoming phones so I got the DNA. It's pretty much the same so I'm not missing out on a lot xD

    ...except battery life.

The DNA has a nice screen, but that's about it. The battery life is terrible.

Samsung updates their phones with both hardware and software. simply compare the Galaxy S2 to the Galaxy S3., the S3 is a world ahead of the S2 in every way.

Plastic is fine., its more durable than glass and doesn't dent, scratch and chip like metal its also lighter in weight. the HTC One looks nice but Im sure the S4 will crush it.

Parallels and VMWare don't do too well with rooting. Bootcamp works for me because it does turn your Mac into a Windows machine.
