Default Evasi0n 1.4 Released With Support for iOS 6.1.2

The evad3rs have released evasi0n version 1.4 Tuesday evening with support for iOS 6.1.2. The update is available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux and can be downloaded from the evasi0n Web site.

iOS 6.1.2 was released Tuesday afternoon to fix an Exchange calendar bug that quickly drains the iOS device's battery life. Fortunately, the update did not patch the popular evasion iOS 6 untethered jailbreak.

If you’re planning on updating to iOS 6.1.2 to fix any issues you might be having with Exchange, you can download the firmware through iTunes and perform a DFU mode restore to the iOS 6.1.2 firmware. You will not be able to update to iOS 6.1.2 OTA (over the air) if you are jailbroken, and we don’t recommend OTA if you aren’t jailbroken yet. You should follow this guide to get your device prepared for the jailbreak on iOS 6.1.2.

There shouldn’t be any issues with jailbreak tweaks not being compatible with iOS 6.1.2, since it’s pretty much the same firmware as iOS 6.1 with a few minor bug fixes. With that being said, update to your heart’s content!

    Nice!
MyLocation App update for 5.1.1 - 6.1.2 from bushe! Incase you are having problems, this app is working fine. You may need an updated location.js file. If it has been updated, and still not updating go to settings/general/reset and reset all settings, this will not affect your JB!
    Download these Instructions - Instructions!
To install the MyLocation app, just add my repo and install it! - http://cydia.myrepospace.com/kohidevice/

Great work gents. Though unless there is any other reason to update I might stay on 6.1 since I don't use Exchange for calendars.

Then again, as was said in an earlier thread, this would be easy enough with PKGBackup so maybe I will. Just because.

So wait? Does 6.1.2 fix the battery drain issue? Or is that only if you use exchange?

Good question. I wondered the same.
I DFU restored to get from 5.1.1 to 6.1 but am not sure why I would need to for this minor increment.

Should always DFU restore. Read our guide linked in the article to learn why.

    What about Recovery Mode?

Also, is 6.1.2 needed if one does not even touch Exchange?

Thank goodness. This issue was murdering my battery life. Seriously, my phone would die just from being off the charger from 6am to 3pm with minimal use. Terrible for an iP5.

You must be the only 1 out of a million or so. I know I don't even use exchange and I have to charge mine every 3 to 4 hrs if I use it at all.

What about 11.0.2 iTunes? is it safe to update to this yet? Or is it best left alone for now?
