Default Infinity Blade Chosen for App of the Week, Free for a Limited Time

The popular Infinity Blade video game for iOS has been chosen as the App Store’s App of the Week this week, and this means that it’s completely free for the next seven days. Infinity Blade is usually $5.99 – a pretty pricey game, so grab it while it's free!

Infinity Blade is a sword game where you will engage multiple monsters in a castle realm, which uses impressive 3D graphics via Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. The player will use swipe gestures to attack the monsters, and use buttons to block attacks, or parry attacks with the weapon at hand to fend the attacks off.

Coins, weapons, and armor can be collected throughout the game to improve the player's defense and offense in the game, and players can also level up their stats as they play through the castle realm over and over. Coins can be used to buy weapon upgrades or armor upgrades.

Being that Infinity Blade 2 has been out for some time, it’s interesting that Apple chose the original Infinity Blade as the App of the Week. Infinity Blade 2 has support for the iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5G’s four-inch display, while the original Infinity Blade (free this week) does not and displays ugly black letterboxes at the top and bottom of the display (left and right when holding in landscape for the game).

Nonetheless, Infinity Blade was an extremely popular game and continues to hold a five-star rating in the App Store from its many happy players. We congratulate Chair Entertainment on making the App of the Week. If you’d like to grab Infinity Blade for free you can do so from this link.

Infinity blade is one of the iOS games that are actually fun. Most other games just get boring after 10 minutes of playing.
