iOS 6.1.1 Has Been Released for iPhone 4S, evasi0n Will Be Updated Soon

Apple Monday released iOS 6.1.1 for iPhone 4S to the public. The first beta of iOS 6.1.1 was released to developers last Wednesday. The update addresses cellular issues that were problematic in terms of performance and stability for some users. It’s a small update, and if you rely on a jailbreak, you shouldn’t update to it – yet.

iOS hacker planetbeing just announced via Twitter Monday afternoon that iOS 6.1.1 for the iPhone 4S does not fix the evasi0n jailbreak and that the evasi0n jailbreak tool will be updated with support for iOS 6.1.1 in a while. According to the hacker, the jailbreak still runs fine on iOS 6.1.1.

That being said, if you want to update your iPhone 4S to iOS 6.1.1, you can… AFTER… the hackers have had a chance to update the evasi0n jailbreak tool. We will be sure to let you know when that happens. Until then, we recommend sitting tight on whatever iOS 6 firmware you might have that’s already jailbroken.

The iOS 6.1.1 update for the iPhone 4S doesn't have the improvements to the Maps application like the beta did and these improvements will likely come in a different update. It is recommended you stay away from this "different update," until hackers have had a chance to dissect it and confirm whether or not it is jailbreakable.

iOS 6.1.1 is not for the iPhone 5. It's for the iPhone 4S.

Cellular Performance needs to be fixed on my iPhone 5.

The signal bars start to decline then turns to No Service, then after a few seconds, my bars come back. It happens often. Doesn't have anything to do with the jailbreak. It started happening after iOS 6.1

I still haven't jailbroken my iPhone 5 6.1 due to my battery life problem. I've been switching between LTE and 3G and trying to conserve but it still dies super quick..should I take it to the apple store? Is it just my phone?

3G will kill your battery faster than LTE. This is because UMTS is more power-thirsty than LTE. Your issue could be software related.

The "used-to-be" iOS 6.1.1 beta probably will patch it by public release. The iOS 6.1.1 beta will not be called iOS 6.1.1 after the next beta.

That sucks. Finally get a jailbreak on 6.1 and thought 6.0.1 or 6.0.2 or 6.1 would fix my cellular but they didn't. And now after I jailbreak they "apparently" fix it…this sucks. O well I'm happy with the jailbreak

Hope evasi0n for 6.1.1 is released soon. I just updated cause articles said it could still be jailbroken, but I'll wait to do that till all the testings done. Stock iOS is just going to be a pain in the *** to navigate for a minute.

Not sure why you're surprised. It's a hot-fix, not a full-blown update.

Apple did the same thing when they released iOS 6.0.2 for ONLY the iPhone 5 and iPad Mini, both of which are jailbreakable on that firmware with all of the vulnerabilities used in iOS 6.0.1.
