Thread: Mailbox Released for iOS, Sort of...

  1. #141
I got my access a day ago, used it for a few hours, then deleted it. It does nothing better than the ios native email client. No need for this whatsoever. Deleted.

No no...they say it is revolutionary!!! You must have downloaded the wrong thing. Lol

  3. #143
I deleted it before even trying. I got tired of waiting, and having to re-register with the ticket system when I restored my iPhone.

If you just restore and/or restore from backup, It will because it's stored in iCloud.

I always DFU restore and set up as a new device.

    Oh ok I gotcha

Yeah it was literally the biggest letdown I have had in a while. I blindly followed it like most, then when it finally showed up, I realized it was a dumber and uglier version of the ios native app. NO need for this whatsoever. Just like the gmail app, useless. Apple does it best.

That's exactly what I did, and I kept my place in line. Using it for the past week.

What happens if you have access and then delete the app?

That's an interesting comment because, particularly on the iPad, I find the Gmail app to be far superior to the stock mail app for that account. I'm looking forward to trying Mailbox.

Edit: OK, I'm finally in. Anybody know how you transfer existing "labels" you've created in Gmail over to Mailbox as "lists"? Is it even possible? That could be a pain in the arse, because I use a lot of labels in Gmail.

If anyone cares, I've figured out how to deal with labels you've set up on Gmail prior to beginning to use the Mailbox app.

You just need to go into your settings in Gmail (desktop), then go to the Labels tab and edit each label to "nest" under the [Mailbox] label that has now been created when you set up the Mailbox app.

I did this and then went into Mailbox, and all of my previous labels (with emails) are now in the Lists section.

I like this app a lot and don't understand the negativity. For Gmail, it's superior (in my opinion) to the stock iOS mail app.
