Wozniak Says iPhone is 'Behind' on Leading Smartphone Features
Apple is no longer the leader of the pack when it comes to cutting edge smartphone features. That's the claim from a man who knows the iPhone maker pretty well. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak recently told the German press that the iPhone is now lagging behind competing smartphones when it comes to today's hottest features.
"Currently we are in my opinion... somewhat behind," Wozniak confesses. "Others have caught up. Samsung is a great competitor. But precisely because they are currently making great products."
Wozniak didn't elaborate on which iPhone features are "behind," but his admission is certainly raising eyebrows.
"The untimely death of Steve [Jobs] was bad on many levels," Woz added. "Steve embodied the Apple brand, standing for excellent products." Unfortunately, Woz thinks it's "still too early to assess" how Apple will develop and grow once all the ideas in the current pipeline (Steve Jobs' ideas) run dry.
Nonetheless, Woz professes his confidence in those presently leading the company. "Apple has great managers who are guided in their decisions by the Apple culture of the past," he says.

Although I agree I'm so sick of Steve Wozniak pretending like he knows jack about Apple. He hasn't worked there in 26 years.
Get a life and go back to teaching grade 5 kids.Last edited by bigbaba; 02-07-2013 at 06:28 PM.

You need to go back to school... that is 37 years from today's date.
Samsung products are "nice". I had a note 2 and the screen was just what made the device what it is, the biggest drawback is the Android OS... iOS is so much simpler to use its ridiculous...
There are only a few things that Android excels... Airdroid and it's screen. Even with the same apps on each platform, the iOS app is always ahead and it has to be because of the underlying foundation.
For everything else we have the iPhone. Hopefully they will reinvent quite a few things...

Lol. Apple has always been behind other smartphones when it comes to the latest technology. Blackberry had corporate email, the first gen iphone didn't have 3g, No horizontal text, turn by turn navigation, a drop down notifications bar, first gen didn't even have picture messaging. There's tons of other examples. The Apple iPhone dominates because it's smooth, not laggy, easy to use and doesn't feel like a cheap piece of crap in your hand. Being able to jailbreak the iPhone puts it over the top of any other phone out.

Duh, no #@!!# Sherlock it's behind on feature! It always has been. Remember when you had to jailbreak your phone and install third party apps and workarounds just to send an mms message?
The iphone's strength has always been its "it" factor and style factor, not its features. Problem for Apple is Steve Jobs s dead, the "it" factor is fading and other companies are making stylish phones.
If you're not a fanboy, it's a great time for choice. I love my jailbroken 4S immensely but I'm looking forward to my options when I choose to upgrade.
