So far on my iPad mini with auxo and sbsettings gone I have been able to get back to my max ram. This is only 30 minutes of use though so ill see how it goes after more use. Looking like sbsettings did/does have a leak right now though.
Sadly I must report that with SBSettings gone but Auxo present - I can NOT get back to my original RAM about. But I have other tweaks present too. I'm going to uninstall Auxo now and see if I can get my RAM back. This will be a definitive test - as the only variable I will change is the uninstall of Auxo.

Could very well be both of them. Let us know how it goes without either.

I can teach u how to get to 800 like me man. I do require a little graveling though. But just think of the benefit. I don't think the opportunity cost is too high.

Why would I 'grovel'? You are an intelligent guy with good ideas. Just share, baby! No grandstanding necessary.

For what it's worth - a freshly jailbroken phone - with only Cydia installed and SBSettings to check RAM never yielded over 800MB of RAM for me. So it's hard to imagine what you could share with me - that could get me to a place I never saw without even Winterboard installed. But PLEASE - enlighten me.

But grandstanding is kind of my thing. I told u all the tweaks I was running plus all the widgets. If u want to call me a liar just say I'm a liar instead of insinuating it. I can always learn from people but maybe u can't learn anything from me. That could well be the truth. Pinoy has been amazing as he has been teaching me a lot. I'm glad there are so many people smarter than me that way I can benefit from their knowledge.

I probably couldn't teach u anything. Good point.

And u know the "graveling" was an autocorrect issue. Unless that's another bug Auxo is causing. Simon can u find out if the devs know about that bug.

I'm just giving u a hard time NewDestiny. I couldn't think of something I care less about than being right on a theming/gadget forum. My friends and I always rip on each other and we never take people seriously. It keeps my life light and fun. That is all this is about. Nothing more. I'm glad u decided to give Auxo another go around.

Now this time, Krima, you're the one overreacting. I wasn't insinuating anything. I don't believe you a liar at all. I was only sharing with you my experience and am very intrigued to know what you can do with an ip5 to get that kind of RAM overhead WITH all your tweaks - when I couldn't achieve that with only SBSettings installed after a fresh jailbreak. I'm genuinely interested. Pinoy has taught me much too as have all the veterans here.

    EDITED:
Well with Auxo and SBSettings both gone. Killing all apps in the switcher gets me back to 689-702MB which is where I start after a Reboot with my current other tweaks. So Auxo and SBSettings are clear suspects for RAM leaks. I will save myself a lot of grief and not say "definitive proof". But with Auxo installed I can't get back to reboot RAM levels with clearing the AppSwitcher. Without it installed, I can. Make your own conclusions. Krima you have me very intrigued as to your tweak list compared to mine. What we can confidently conclude is that, given the right combo of tweaks, Auxo and SBSettings can leak RAM. On my phone, with my tweaks, they leak. Obviously not on yours with your tweaks. You ARE on ip5, right?

Yup, looking that way to me too. Although I havent tried Auxo and no sbsettings yet.

    How is this possible??

I was told this was just some false claim by apple. Someone was going to come here and tell us that iOS doesn't really do this.

Not much time playing with it with just Auxo and no sbsettings. So far it seems memory leak is still there. But it's a lot slower. With sbsettings max ram after closing everything dropped dramatically every time after normal use. With just Auxo the drop is a lot smaller each time. So I would say sbsettings has a pretty decent memory leak and Auxo after the update had theirs plugged, but not totally fixed. That's only on my iPhone 5 though. Mileage may vary.

I agree. Auxo RAM leak is less after upgrade but still there to the tune of 60MB-90MB. Though I'm satisfied (with the "update to my education" King gave me on dynamic RAM allocation in iOS and ip5 having 1GB of RAM now) that a RAM leak of any kind won't really affect the performance of my phone much, still RAM leak is bad and shows defective coding - and it CAN still affect people on 3GS, 4 and 4S who have 512 of RAM. Auxo devs need to plug their RAM leak all the way. Thanks Simon for corroborating my conclusion about Auxo's leak "for everyone". I feel a little vindicated. I know you gave the 'diplomatic' "your mileage may vary" disclaimer. But a leak, is a leak for all. Which tweaks each individual has loaded is a variable in this equation but only as to 'degree' of the leak. Doesn't negate the leak entirely for anyone using Auxo.

And SBSettings..?! Who'd have imagined it?

Not the first time I have noticed a memory leak with sbsettings. I have always seemed to have one with it over the years. Just never cared much, the pros of having it always outweighed the cons to me.

@NewDestiny dude it's not for "everyone". I have it installed and I woke up this morning and my ram had 800mb. Keep in mind that people are running many different devices and firmwares with varying tweaks and modifications. Some people disable launch daemons, modify the hosts file and so on. A ram leak for some doesn't mean a leak for everyone because of all the unknowns. I clearly don't have a ram leak so your comment of "everyone" is just wrong. I understand u have problems with it and it may be hard for u to understand that others with similar tweaks haven't had the same issues.

Does it have a ram leak? For me it doesn't so this means it doesn't for "everyone" but does for some. Just stay away from definitive statements like that and 99% of the issues people have with u would stop. No more arguments from me, Simon, Pinoy, Gunny, King, etc. Unless u love to argue in which case, carry on my friend.

Hey Simon I know u mentioned the respring u use for sbsettings. Have you tried sbcenter for notification. This will serve as a great substitute for sbsettings for your iPad mini. This is what it looks like Simon

You can do experiments that test the validity of claims like I and others have made, Krima. Testing done by several people has shown that Auxo indeed has a leak, AS a piece of code under normal iphone operation. Now if you want to change the "rules of the game" and modify the code itself or set up other tweaks that stop normal processes on your phone from happening then of course you may be able to "beat the system" and "prevent" leakages from any given tweak dropping the RAM down. Clearly some of you, with coding experience, can have different experiences for yourselves on your isolated phones because you have the ability to manipulate the phone in the same way that an iOS developer does. Good for you! I'm happy for you! (And I'd love to be your student!! Really!!)

Now, I am happy to modify my statement from "everyone" to "99.9% of us normal people" . But with that percentage in my favor it's upon Auxo to fix its proven leak. And at this point in time, since you're in the minority, the burden of proof that there is no leak, even on your phone, is upon you, my friend. I would love to see a video proving your experience. . But even more than proof I'd like to learn the secrets you have.

I'm happy to take this to the "Great Debate" thread.

First of all I never said people didn't have memory leaks. In fact I said some do but I don't so not everyone has a problem. As far as proof I don't need to show u a video because I have shown two different screenshots of my ram. U want proof I show u a screenshot then u want a video and then u will want a video with my face in the shot and then U will want 3d panoramic elevated shot of me using my phone while doing a backflip and then u will say I modified the footage and then u will want a live FaceTime chat and then and maybe then it will be enough "proof" for u. Lol

I don't owe u proof more than I have given and way more than u have given anyone of your claims. Case in point the 99.9% of people. What a ridiculous statement to make because u can't ground that statement with any "proof" or source. Maybe I'm weird or I've dealt with enough business professionals to know u never give data that u can't back up. This is a percentage u can't back up.

U only ask for video because u need to vindicate your comment but your statement as written as "everyone" is wrong. To argue the accuracy of your statement or even the 99.9% is the equivalent of me trying to reason with my 6 month niece as to why she shouldn't crap in her pants. She will not understand and therefore I would expect her to keep crapping in her pants. But yes I would like to continue this in the Great Debate thread. That's a fun place to be with these sorta things.

Not gonna waste my time with you on this, Krima. Average non-coding background people using their iPhones on 6.1 with Evasi0n JB will find a leak with Auxo. That's irrefutable and provable. Are there ways you can prevent the leak from occurring when Auxo is present? Clearly. Easily accomplished? Doubtful. Specialized skills to get it to stop leaking? Probably. But we're all ears, bro.

If you were really interested in something other than grandstanding or trying to preach to me, Krima, about my evil ways, you would just share how to prevent 'all leaks' from any tweak and be truly "helpful" to the forum. Rather than this mission to change me. Lol!!

So be done with it and share your 'secret' tweak which prevents leakage and gets you amazing RAM with lots of tweaks. Sharing it or not will prove your real intent in this discussion, bro.
