The way I fixed it was using iFile and MobileTerminal

    1. Copied the script from Pod2g
    2. Opened iFile and navigated to

    /var/root

    3. Created a new file named weatherfix.sh
    4. Opened MobileTerminal
    5. Typed login; entered root as user; entered password (alpine unless changed)
    6. Typed weatherfix.sh

I have no idea why it's adding a \r at the end of it it seems like thats causing the problem.... I copy and pasted directly from his blog and confirmed nothing was added or deleted.
Sounds like something went wrong in the transfer of the text file .. you have \r characters in there that don't belong

Script doesn't work for me either. killall -9 part gives me a "no matching processes were found" error

had the same problem. tried weather and it crashed. tried turning off the phone with it wouldn't turn back on (stuck on apple logo). put it in DFU and restored. gonna wait for updated JB.
I believe there's an issue with rebooting which is why you were stuck on the apple logo

Did you try a hard reboot? (Holding Home+Power buttons until device turned off)

No big deal, two months ago I would of happily traded my weather app for a untethered jailbreak. I'm so grateful we have one finally.

I can certainly wait~ I'm glad to hear the fix for this issue will be a simple package upgrade

I tried this and all I get is a command not found in iFile. Did you happen to do anything that wasn't listed above? Like maybe just something you missed?

I was half expecting iBooks to be the issue but had to laugh that it was the weather app! Don't really use the yahoo app as its never close even when it predicts rain 7 days in a row it still gets it wrong!

That's not a problem.. it's just attempting to kill a process if it's running before it attempts the rest of what it does.. after it completes it should reboot the device .. once that happens you're done and SHOULD be able to open the weather app .. worked for me and I got the same message you did.. which is nothing to worry about =)

I don't care about the weather app at all but I do like things to work when they are supposed to so that's why I did it.. on the plus side I can now also restart my phone and it seems to work every single time now whereas before I was getting stuck at the apple logo and having to do a hard reset 3-4 times in a row.

I've rebooted my device several times today since applying this script to fix the weather and it's rebooted every time! not sure if it's related but I'm not complaining =)

Curious if anyone else has a similar experience? or am I the only one who's done it and it worked for? =)

That may not be an issue.
killall won't kill it if the daemon's not running, and usually its not. killall is there "just in case" .

Am having the weather app crash issue but is any one also having issues with games opening up? I play bejeweled blitz a lot and after the jailbreak was done and I try to open the app it opens and shows the game title but then goes into a black screen and stays that way but all the app notifications are working normally I already tried deleting and re-installing and still the same thing any one have any ideas??

    Thanks

My weather app wasn't working, but after installing WinterBoard, which aside from royally screwing my phone leaving with access to only 5 apps, fixed the weather app!

    I'll be restoring later tonight...

This works! Going to uninstall to really put it to the test! Too bad it only fixed my NC and not the whole app.

Strange enough my stock weather app now force closing though it didn't since I jailbroke my iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.2 when evasi0n JB was released.
