'RespringCacheFix' Cleans Junk Files Created By Resprings in iOS 6.1

Be careful respringing that iOS 6.1 jailbroken device too many times in a row. According to iOS hacker and developer Ryan Petrich, every time you respring that iOS 6.1 device, a lot of temporary files are created that waste a ton of space. Reboots won’t do the same thing, but resprings are easier and more convenient than reboots, so many of us do that more often than reboot.
If you want to keep respringing your iOS 6.1 device without having to worry about the build up of these irritating temporary files, Ryan has created a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed RespringCacheFix that will automatically get rid of these junk files for you after each respring on iOS 6.1.
Ryan warns that the package is still in beta and hasn’t had any significant testing, however we’ve been using it all day on more than one iOS 6.1 jailbroken device (iPhone 5 included) and nothing abnormal has happened.
If you want to add RespringCacheFix to your jailbroken iOS 6.1 device, add Ryan Petrich’s beta repository by following the steps below:
- tap on the Manage tab
- tap on the Sources button
- tap on the Edit button
- tap on the Add button
- enter the following URL and then tap Add Source:

My weather app doesn't work either.
Does matter though, I'll just hide the weather app through SBsettings and use a downloaded app! ;-)

Mine's working fine... iPhone 4S, but my Springtomize isn't! Either that, or Filippo destroyed my favorite feature in this latest version: changing the app switcher to hide inactive apps and to always display the kill switch! Now it just starts in the icon-wiggling edit mode, but it doesn't hide inactive apps and doesn't let you switch apps until you hit the home button one more time to stop the wiggling!
I hope I'm not doing something wrong...

I can not get MultiCleaner to work after install.
I use it a a shortcut to quit all apps by double
tapping Status Bar.
I hope a fix for the MultiCleaner is available
soon.

I believe most people will have the weather.app missing if they have done an OTA update to 6.1 (like myself) but who cares. I never use it for more than the weather widget in my NC.

So how much space on average do these files take up?

my weather works fine (on a 4S, 6.1, evaded, 64gb).
edit: nevermind, no it doesn't (must have broken after a reboot). that sucks, because i used the stock weather app all the time -- probably my most used app. <-- that's a lieLast edited by novadam; 02-05-2013 at 05:33 AM.

My weather doesn't work but I never used it. I use TWC. Why is stock weather better to you guys? Just curious as a lot of people are upset.

It has nothing to do with having done an OTA update. I did OTA on my iP5 with iOS 6.1 and my weather app is just fine. Regardless, this thread is about the extra garbage files created by respringing. Kudos to Ryan for creating a fix!
